Local Drug Dealer Pleads Guilty, Gets 25 Years, LIVINGSTON, April 11, 2008 - According Polk County Assistant District Attorney, Joe Martin, at 10 am on April 10th 2008, Charles David Daniels (aka "Shrek", aka "CD"), 46, of Livingston plead guilty to possession of cocaine with intent to deliver. According to Martin, Daniels opted to plea guilty for 25 years in TDC rather than face the possibility of 75 years in TDC if the case were to go to trial. Daniels has a history of legal troubles. Harris County sentenced him to the penitentiary in 1993 for drug dealing. Daniels was put on probation in 2003 in Polk County for injury to a disabled person and wound up back in jail again in 2004 for violating the rules of his probation when he was caught possessing cocaine, leading to 2 more years in TDC. By 2007 word was out that Daniels was dealing drugs again in Polk County. On January 8th, and on January 10th, 2008, Daniels sold crack cocaine to an informant at the Royal Inn in Livingston. Daniels sold crack again on March 8th by Dunbar School, that same day, in a joint operation between Livingston Police and Polk County Sheriff's Deputies, a warrant was obtained and Daniels was arrested with crack cocaine in his possession. When Police and deputies approached Daniels, a struggle ensued when Daniels attempted to swallow the crack cocaine that he kept in a little baggie, but they were able to get the crack from Daniels before he was able to swallow it.
