Corrigan/Camden Bulldogs Bumped from Playoffs by Arp, BUFFALO, November 26, 2011 - The staff and minds in charge of Buffalo hosting a playoff game didn't do a very good job. First of all, that's the first High School football game I've been to where they had the nerve to charge for parking. For crying out loud, last year at Cowboy Stadium for state championship games parking was free. To make matters worse, this is the first game I've been to where there was no food in the press box for media (and they had the nerve to charge for parking). Very bad call Buffalo!
Okay, the game. The Corrigan/Camden Bulldogs hosted the Arp Tigers in Buffalo and played a team that I got the impression was an equal match for the Bulldogs. The big difference being that Arp didn't turn the ball over three times and commit costly penalties like false start three times when they were driving in the red zone. In spite of the turnovers and senseless penalties, the Dogs were still in the game at the start of the 4th quarter when they were down 18 to 12? (not sure, but it wasn't bad). In the 4th quarter Arp turned it on and by the end of the game walked away with a 41 - 21 victory. During the game the Bulldogs showed they had the ability to stop Arp and the offense demonstrated that they could move the ball on Arp. One thing that was eating the Dogs' lunch was the Arp quarterback ran a lot. He would fake and handoff and run it himself and did so effectively. The dogs struggled with this for the entire game (see the highlight reel).
Even though the Bulldogs lost this game, they still ended up having a great year. To make to the third round of the playoffs with a team that started out the year bad, was an accomplishment. Head Coach Seven Armstrong and his staff did a good job. Congratulations t the Corrigan/Camden Bulldogs on a successful year.
