Number 10 Warms Home Crowd on a Chilly Night, CORRIGAN, November 9, 2014 - The Corrigan-Camden Bulldogs finished the regular season on Friday (Nov. 7) and are now primed for the playoffs.  The night was staunchly chilly and humid.  Even though, it wasn't one of those freezing cold nights, the chill in the air was just enough to constantly make you wish that it wasn't there, but the gentle misery was worth it.  It was worth standing in the cold damp air to watch the Bulldogs do what they do.  Number 10, Keegan Mitchell scored six touchdowns as himself and his partners in crime (Malyk Johnson and Sammy Martinez) put on a show that would warm the crowd.  Mitchell ran in 5 touchdowns (6 yd, 1 yd, 54 yd, 43 yd, 55 yd, and caught a 48 yd TD pass).  Mitchell also ran in a two point conversion.  Johnson ran in a 38 yard TD run and Martinez ran one in from 1 yard out.

                                                                        FINAL:  DOGS 58, GARRISON 28

Defensively speaking, the Dogs have tightened up.  It's been lots of fun watching the fired up defensive line almost constantly pressure opposing quarterbacks.  LaDarius Hamilton brings a constant bad attitude (in a very favorable way, mind you) to the Bulldog defense.  Also, Calvin Burks and Dylan Parker seem to be a constant disruptive presence.

Keegan Mitchell is a senior and will be sorely missed when this whole thing eventually ends as he moves on to bigger better things in life after high school.  While their names (Mitchell, Johnson, and Martinez) are often mentioned in my humble write ups, we must remember that the game of American Football is a team sport.  Their achievements wouldn't be possible (obviously) without the support of great teammates and an excellent coaching staff.  Players like Cody McDonald, Jaylon Williams, Zaquan White, Calvin Burks, LaDarius Hamilton, Javoris Brooks, LaKendrick Moore, Chase Tubbs, Chris Reyes (I could keep going). But I'll shut my pie hole and let ya watch the Highlight Reel (You can watch this great team and it's players for yourself).

Looking forward to the playoffs!

Willie P. Openshaw, Editor

Senior Keegan Mitchell was on fire on Friday night in Corrigan.
Calvin Burks sacks the Garrison QB.
Mictchell's presence drew much attention from the Garrison Bulldog defense.
During a game, Malyk Johnson is subject to kick into beast mode any time he touches the ball.
Mitchell soars down the sideline enroute to another Corrigan Bulldog TD.
Cornerback Jyvon Birch breaks up a would be Garrison TD pass.
Jyvon Birch runs in a 2 point conversion.
