Corrigan-Camden Class of 1978 was on hand (40th class reunion) for the game.
Bulldogs Open District Play with Big Win, CORRIGAN, October 13, 2018 - On Friday night the Corrigan-Camden Bulldogs Varsity Football Team took the field against the New Waverly Bulldogs.  From the opening, the Dogs (Corrigan is The Dogs) were sluggish through the first quarter.  At the beginning of the second quarter, The Dogs woke from their slumber and cruised for the rest of the game for a 37 to 0 stomping of the New Waverly Bulldogs.  The Corrigan Defense did bend at times, but it never broke and held New Waverly scoreless for the entire game.  Corrigan Special Teams did well, especially when they took advantage of a busted punt attempt by New Waverly.  The was snapped over the punter's head.  The punter (Zachary Hammack) ran back and grabbed the ball, then tried to get the punt off only to get smothered by Corrigan defenders.  The ball was fumbled and The Dogs recovered it in the endzone.  On Offense, the Bulldogs had an effective running game that was fueled by Ashton Jones (No. 42) and Terrell Cook (No. 5).  Both runners exploited the New Waverly defense throughout the game.  The Bulldogs even passed the ball effectively.  One pass play for a touchdown came as time expired for the first half.  Corrigan Quarterback, Dohn Freeman (No. 3) threw a 42 yard pass for a completion and a touchdown to receiver Zack Ivie (No. 21).  Ivie caught the ball at the 10 yard line and rumbled into the endzone falling as he crossed the goal line for a spectacular first half grand finale.  In the second half, The Dogs continued to control the game with stifling defense and a fluid running game on offense.  When all was said and done, it was Corrigan-Camden Bulldogs 37, New Waverly Bulldogs 0.  ...at any rate! It's all right here on the Highlight Reel!... Yes, we're still doing this :)
