The One Two Punch: Corrigan's potent offense is powered by running backs Keegan Mitchell (10) and Malyk Johnson (2).
Corrigan-Camden Bulldogs Hammer Kountze Lions, KOUNTZE, September 20, 2014 - The Corrigan-Camden Bulldog Varsity Football Team went into Kountze on Friday night (09/19/14) and laid waste to the Kountze Lions by a score of 74 to 40.  The Bulldog running attack featuring the one two punch of senior, running back, Keegan Mitchell and junior running back, Malyk Johnson was just too much for the Kountze defense.  Needless to say, it's a team sport, and the blocking of the Bulldog offensive line, combined with Mitchell and Johnson's hard running is what makes the Bulldog offense so special.  So far this year, the Bulldogs have been averaging around 60 points per game, and that's great, but there's always room for improvement.

Defense Needs to Tighten Up...
The Bulldog defense surrendered 40 points to the Kountze Lions.  That's not good. It's easy to forsee the Bulldogs storming through the regular season undefeated and making it look easy as they score almost at will every week and winning mostly with lopsided scores, but, when they get into the playoffs, they're probably going to run into a team with a solid defense that won't let the score get lopsided, and a Bulldog defense that allows a lot of points could crash their dreams of a third state title.

COMMENTARY...
It was a lot of fun covering the Corrigan-Camden Bulldogs.  Coach Seven Armstrong and his staff have consistently put out good hard nosed football teams that have kept the tradition of Corrigan style football.  Next week the Dogs will be in Diboll in what will probably be another slaughter (hopefully).

Stay tuned!

This highlight reel is chock full of great plays from both the offense and defense.  The Willster really outdid himself on this one!  If you happen to run into the Willster, give him a word of thanks for his hard work that he puts into the highlight reel!  Enjoy!
