Bobbye Richards of Livingston
New District Clerk Appointed, LIVINGSTON, June 15, 2015 - Bobbye  Richards will  take  the  oath  of  office as  the  new Polk  County district  clerk  effective  July  1.  Appointed  by  411th District  Judge Kaycee L. Jones and 258th District Judge Ernest L. McClendon, Richards will fill the unexpired term left by the May 21 resignation of Kathy E. Clifton.  “I’m really looking forward to the opportunity,” Richards said.  Richards will  bring  her  legal  knowledge and experience  to  the  position, having had a lengthy career in the legal field.  She most recently worked as the legal  assistant  to  Onalaska  Attorney  Travis  E.  Kitchens  Jr.  Prior  to  that,  she worked as the legal assistant to Houston Attorney Jeffrey B. McClure, working at several Houston law firms, including Butler Binion Rice Cook and Knapp, Mayor Day  Caldwell  and  Keeton  and  Anderson  Kurth.  She  also  worked  for  the  San Antonio law firm Ball and Weed and in the legal department of Tomball Regional Hospital.  “Mrs. Richards brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the job of Polk County district clerk and she has expressed her willingness and eagerness to tackle the challenges in the clerk’s office,” Jones said. “I look forward to her serving the residents of Polk County", Richards said. Born and raised in Houston, Richards is a graduate of Aldine High School and is married to Rocky Richards of Livingston.
