Sheriff's Office Nails 3 Burglary Suspects, Searching for 4th, ONALASKA, September 22, 2008 - On September 18, 2008 the Polk County Sheriff's Office responded to four burglaries of houses located in Sportsman's Retreat subdivision. Two days later, the Sheriff's Office responded to two more burglaries in the same subdivision. The burglars stole money, jewelry, alcohol, knives, lighters and other items. The suspects also allegedly vandalized most of their targets which included spray painting inside the residences.
On September 21, the Sheriff's Office received information about possible suspects in the burglaries. Detectives, including Captain Ricky Childers, Lieutenant Andy Lowrie, Brent Foster, Howard Smith, Christian Shanmeier, Glen Edwards, and Chris Lima, all with the Polk County Sheriff's Office, traveled to Sportsman's Retreat and conducted several searches of residences of the suspects and recovered stolen property consistent with the reported burglaries. Dustin Dawson, 18, was arrested and charged with two counts of burglary of a habitation and four counts of engaging in organized criminal activity. Derrick Rennert, 17, was arrested and charged two counts of burglary of a habitation and 4 counts of engaging in organized criminal activity, and Joey Fisher, 18, was arrested and charged with burglary of a habitation and one count of engaging in organized criminal activity. Additionally:an arrest warrant was issued for the arrest of Andrew Dawson, 24, for one count of burglary of a habitation and four counts of engaging in organized criminal activity.
