Deputy Vance Berry found a syringe in Karen Sue Amberson's Dodge Durango.
Driver Arrested on Liberty Road, LIVINGSTON, July 29, 2011 - Shortly after 6 pm on July 29, 2011, Deputy Vance Berry was north-bound on US-146. Deputy Berry was nearly hit by another north-bound vehicle, a gray Dodge Durango driven by Karen Sue Amberson, 35, of Livingston. Berry initiated a traffic stop and pulled Amberson over on Liberty Road. After running Amberson's driver's license Berry learned that Amberson had a warrant out for her arrest. Further, Berry received consent to search the vehicle and found a syringe. Amberson was placed under arrest. In addition to her arrest warrant, Amberson was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. A rollback wrecker from Ken's Towing recovered Amberson's vehicle and it will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston. The scene was cleared by 7:01 pm.
Amberson already had a warrant out for her arrest when Deputy Berry found the syringe.
Amberson was loaded into a unit and driven to Polk County Jail.
Amerson's vehicle was recovered by Ken's Towing.
