Information Helps Sheriff's Deputies Apprehend Joseph Michael Gay, 2 Others, LIVINGSTON, July 29, 2008 - Intelligence obtained from an informant led Sheriff's Deputies to the whereabouts and subsequent arrest of Joseph Michael Gay and two of his associates. Gay had two warrants out for his arrest; 1 for felony possession, and 1 for aggravated assault. At approximately 1 pm on July 28, 2008, Lieutenant Randy Bridges, Deputies James Romero, Glen Edwards, Randy Turner, and Constable Charlie Clack, based on information obtained from an informant, approached a house on the corner of Stevens Road and Kathy Road in the Scenic Loop area. Deputies Edwards and Turner knocked on the front door of the house and announced their presence, while Bridges and Romero waited at the back of the house. After Turner made their presence known, Gay attempted to escape through a window in the back of the house only to find Lieutenant Bridges and Deputy Romero waiting, Gay then ran back to the front where Deputies Randy Turner and Glen Edwards subdued Gay and placed him under arrest.
Routine Check of Residence Proves Fruitful After a routine check of the other two occupants at the residence, it was discovered that resident Melinda Lawson, 42, of Livingston, had a felony warrant out for her arrest. Lawson was also placed under arrest. Deputy Randy Turner obtained a search warrant and upon searching the house, Constable Clack with the deputies found what appeared to be methamphetamine. The third occupant of the house, Christopher Brandon Isom, 19, of Livingston was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance.
Local law enforcement have been searching for Joseph Michael Gay for several weeks. Gay was close to being arrested back on July 16 of this year. See related story
