AK-74 Rifle, LIVINGSTON, December 17, 2015 - Back in 2011, I made a (just for fun) video about the AK-74 Rifle (below). The AK-74 rifle was designed by Mikail Kalashnikov and produced in by Russia in 1974 as a replacement for the AK-47. The AK-74 is believed to be Russia's answer to the M-16 which is a much more accurate rifle than the AK-47 and is very effective. The AK-74 fires a 5.45 X 39mm ballistic round. The AK-74 proved to fire more accurately at long distances than the AK-47 and first saw action in 1979 when the Russians invaded Afghanistan. The Afghan Mujahedeen called the 5.45×39mm round the "Poison Bullet" due to the severe wounds it produced to extremities and the resulting need to amputate.
