Driver Fails to Yield, Gets Broadsided, LIVINGSTON, December 31, 2016 - At approximately 5 pm on December 31, 2016, a white 2006 Kia Sportage, driven by Rosie Carter, 46, of Livingston, was south-bound on Pan American Drive. As Carter approached the 1988 South crossover, a white 1998 Mercury Mountaineer, driven by Rita Mullen, 40, of Houston, attempted to crossover from 1988 South and pulled directly in front of Carter. Carter's vehicle slammed into the front driver's side fender of Mullen's car. The impact spun Mullen's vehicle around the opposite direction that she was traveling and rolled into the grass by Thomas Supply. Carter's vehicle came to rest in the grass to the left of the pavement. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Officers Chad Lilley and Brandon Brewer with Livingston Police Department. Carter sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Conroe Regional Hospital. Mullen was physically okay. Traffic was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup. Mullen was cited for failure to yield, no driver's license, and no insurance. A rollback wrecker from Ken's Towing recovered both vehicles and they'll be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston.
