LPD Releases Name of Pedestrian Struck by Car on December 29: Shortly after 7 pm on December 29, 2011, Ronald Dwayne Davis, 41, of Corrigan was struck by a car at an exit ramp off US-59 in Livingston. Davis remains in critical condition at this time in Hermann Hospital after sustaining a major head injury and other major injuries.

Pedestrian Critical After Being Struck by Car, LIVINGSTON, December 30, 2011 - At approximately 7:15 pm on December 29, 2011, a pedestrian (whose name is being withheld at this time) was struck by a car at an exit off Highway 59 at the south end of Livingston. The pedestrian was struck by a dark blue 1999 Crown Victoria driven by Marshall Vincent Holder, 76, of Rusk. Holder took the exit off 59 by Baskins Department store and struck the pedestrian who apparently suddenly appeared and was unavoidable. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Officers from Livingston Police Department including Officer Dallas Early who is the investigating officer. The victim was loaded onto an ambulance and driven to Livingston Memorial Hospital where he was loaded onto a Life Flight helicopter and flown to Hermann Hospital in Houston. The victim is reportedly in critical condition. A small amount of marijuana was found in the victim's possession. Marshall Holder's vehicle was drivable and was driven from the scene by Holder. The accident remains under investigation by Officer Early and the Livingston Police Department.

The accident victim (a male from Corrigan) is treated by EMS Personnel from Americare Ambulance Service.
The victim sustained major injuries and is currently in critical condition.
The victim was in possession of a small amount of marijuana.
The victim was transferred from Americare to Life Flight and flown to Hermann Hospital in Houston.
