Intoxicated Driver Crashes Nose Down Into Creek, ONALASKA, December 29, 2010 - At approximately 6:50 am on December 29, 2010, a red 2000 Cadillac sedan driven by Adam Brice Crowton, 26, of Onalaska, was west bound on Yaupon Cove Road when he went into a curve too fast and his vehicle slid into the east-bound lane and continued off the road, struck an elevated manhole cover, went airborne, hit a tree and went over a guard rail nose down into a creek. Americare ambulance service was dispatched to the scene along with Sergeant William Jerry of the Polk County Sheriff's Office and DPS Trooper Kevin Burman. According to Trooper Burman, Crowton was intoxicated (most likely on pills). Crowton was treated at the scene by EMS Personnel and transported to Livingston Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Crowton was later released and booked into Polk County Jail for driving while intoxicated and was also cited for unsafe speed. Additionally, Adam Crowton will be charged for false report as he initially lied to Trooper Burman about who he was. Crowton also has 3 warrants for his arrest out of Liberty County which offers a probable motive for his lying about who he was. Crowton did have insurance. Crowton's vehicle was recovered by George White & Sons wrecker service and will be stored in Onalaska.
