Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle, LIVINGSTON, December 28, 2015 - Shortly before 6 pm on December 28, 2015, a vehicle/pedestrian accident occurred on South Houston next to Melbo's convenience store. A silver 2007 Saturn View, driven by Beatrice Perales, 62, of Onalaska, was north-bound on South Houston when her vehicle struck a pedestrian, Billy Kenner, 61, of Livingston. Kenner attempted to cross the road to the parking lot of Melbo's in an unauthorized crossing zone. Kenner was struck on the left side of his body and dropped to the pavement on impact. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Deputies Terry Valka and Billy Duke with the Polk County Sheriff's Office, along with Sergeant Chad Ward and Sergeant Ronnie Bogany, Officers Kevin Ward and Tito Reyes (all with Livingston Police Department). Additionally, Trooper Kevin Burman with the Texas Highway Patrol assisted Livingston PD. Kenner was transported to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. Kenner was cited for crossing in a no crossing zone. Perales' vehicle sustained mild damage (driver's side mirror broken off) and was driven from the scene.
61 year old Billy Kenner dropped to the pavement when he was struck by a 2007 Saturn View driven by 62 year old Beatrice Perales, of Onalaska.
Kenner was transported to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
