Name Released from Fatal Crash, MIDWAY, December 22, 2024 - The name of the driver that perished on December 21, 2024 has been released. At approximately 2:05 pm a gray 2016 Kia Sorento was west-bound on US-190 East when the driver left the pavement to the left, drove through the grass for around one hundred yards on the east-bound side of 190, then re-entered the pavement, crossed over the other side, continued down embankment and slammed into a large tree. The driver, Anthony Michael Moore, 52, of Livingston, was killed on impact. Prior to the crash, there were reports to dispatch about his erratic driving. During an inventory of the vehicle, a large amount of prescription pills and other prescription medication was found in the vehicle. This accident remains under investigation by The Texas Highway Patrol.

Fatal Crash Near County Line, MIDWAY, December 21, 2024 - At approximately 2:05 pm on December 21, 2024, the driver of a gray 2016 Kia Sorento was west-bound on US-190 East when for some reason, the driver left the pavement to the left. The driver continued in the grass on the east-bound side of 190 for a significant distance before eventually reentering 190, crossing over, and then leaving the pavement to the right, continued down and embankment and slammed into a large tree. The male driver was killed on impact. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Alabama Coushatta Volunteer Fire Department, Officer Tito Reyes with the Alabama Coushatta Police Department, Deputy Perk Ostrewich with the Polk County Sheriff's Office, and Trooper Simon Mijardes with The Texas Highway Patrol. A vehicle inventory turned up a plethora of prescription pills and other prescription medication. Justice of the Peace, Jamie Richardson filed an inquest at the scene. A first-call car from Cochran funeral home transported the driver from the scene. The vehicle was recovered by Pop's Wrecker Service out of Livingston.
