Driver Turns Over Truck Allegedly Dodging Deer, LEGGETT, December 21, 2010 - At approximately 8:30 pm on December 20, 2010, a tan 2002 Ford F-250 driven by Cameron Wayne Mahaffey, 20, of Livingston was south-bound on Upper Leggett Road when he allegedly swerved to avoid a deer and left the road to the right causing his vehicle to roll on its driver's side. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene, however, passenger Jimmie Wyatt, 22, of Fort Drum, New York, was transported to Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries by private vehicle before EMS Personnel arrived. Also dispatched was Sergeant William Jerry with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and DPS Troopers Joe Cole and Chris Stanbery. Cameron Mahaffey was physically okay. Traffic was briefly blocked during investigation and cleanup. Troopers did locate an opened bottle of Southern Comfort Whiskey in the vehicle. Passenger Jimmy Wyatt was cited for open container. A rollback wrecker from Riley Wrecker Service recovered Mahaffey's vehicle and it will be stored in Corrigan. The scene was cleared shortly before 10 pm.
