25 year old Sikui Oliveros, and 36 year Gary Vincent, both of Silsbee, perished in a crash on December 19 at 2 am in Corrigan.
Victims' Names Released from Double Fatal, CORRIGAN, December 20, 2024 - The names of the victims in the December 19 crash have been released. At approximately 2 am, a white 2007 Dodge pickup driven by 36 year old Gary Vincent, of Silsbee, was east-bound of FM-287 West. Vincent's passenger was 25 year old Sikui Oliveros, also of Silsbee (his girlfriend). Vincent's pickup left the pavement to the right, jumped a culvert, grazed a tree, grazed a parked 18 wheeler, and then slammed sideways into a loaded logging truck that was parked. Sadly, both Vincent and Oliveros were killed on impact. Oliveros was a Venezuelan national here on a work permit. They were reportedly on their way home from North Dakota where Vincent owns a business in the oil and gas industry. They were headed to Silsbee so that she could meet his family for the first time. This accident remains under investigation by the Corrigan Police Department.

Double Fatality on 287 West, CORRIGAN, December 19, 2024 - At approximately 2 am on December 19, 2024, the driver of a white 2006 Dodge pickup was east-bound on FM-287 West when he left the pavement to the right, jumped a culvert, scraped a tree, scraped a parked 18 wheeler, and slammed sideways into the back of a loaded logging 18 wheeler in the 1181 block of 287 West (exactly 1 mile from US-59). The identities of the male driver and his female passenger have not yet been determined. Both were killed on impact. Officer Tyler Copeland with the Corrigan Police Department was dispatched to the scene and was assisted by Corrigan Police Chief, Daryl Gibson. Justice of the Peace, Robert "Dooley" Johnson filed inquests at the scene. A first-call car was summoned to transport both victims from the scene. Riley Wrecker Service out of Corrigan was summoned clean up the mess. This accident remains under investigation by the Corrigan Police Department.
