Trooper Ashlee White investigated a motorcycle accident that happened on 190 East at Soda Oaks.
Driver Fails to Yield to Motorcycle on 190 East, SODA, December 17, 2017 - At approximately 7:25 pm on December 17, 2017, a 2000 Yamaha motorcycle, driven by Gered Eddenfield, 34, of Pineland,  was east-bound on US-190 East.  Eddenfield's motorcycle suddenly slammed into the passenger's side of a blue 2017 Ford Escape, driven by Avis Taylor Nichols, 82, of Livingston.  Nichols was west-bound on 190 when she attempted a left turn onto Soda Oaks Road and failed to yield to Eddenfield.  Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department and Trooper Ashlee White with the Texas Highway Patrol.  Eddenfield sustained head injuries.  Nichols was physically okay.  Eddenfield was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with head injuries (he was not wearing a helmet).  Nichols was cited for failure to yield.  Eddenfield was cited for driving while license invalid.  Eddenfield's motorcycle was recovered by LakeView Towing and will be stored in Livingston.  Nichols' vehicle was driven from the scene.

82 year old Avis Taylor Nichols, of Livingston, was driving this 2017 Ford Escape and attempted a left turn and failed to yield to Eddenfield.
Eddenfield sustained head injuries.
