Driver Crashes Pickup, Arrested for DWI, LIVINGSTON, December 17, 2017 - At approximately 3 pm on December 17, 2017, a red 2001 Ford F-150, driven by Raymond Edge, 63, of Livingston, was north-bound on FM-350 North. Edge's vehicle suddenly left the pavement to the left and struck some small pine trees a short distance north of Horace Bonds Road. His vehicle spun around and came to rest facing south. Trooper Ashlee White with the Texas Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene to investigate. Edge was physically uninjured. Trooper White smelled alcohol on Edge, noticed his slurred speech and observed his general demeanor (which came across as a person who's intoxicated). White administered a field sobriety test on Edge and placed him under arrest for driving while intoxicated. Additionally, there was an open can of beer found in Edge's vehicle. Edge was transported to Polk County Jail and charged with driving while intoxicated and unsafe speed. A rollback wrecker from LakeView Towing recovered Edge's vehicle and it will be stored in Livingston.
