56 year olf Detlev Hartmann of Livingston was struck by a car when he was riding this bicycle on US-190 West near Livingston Wal-Mart.
Bicyclist Struck by Car Near Livingston Wal-Mart, LIVINGSTON, December 17, 2012 - Shortly before 4 pm on December 17, 2012, the driver of bicycle was struck on US-190 West (east-bound lanes) near Wal-Mart. According to Livingston Police Department, the driver of the bicycle (Detlev Hartmann, 56, of Livingston,) pulled in front of the east-bound Oldsmobile Ciera driven by Kathy Jo Cooley, 47, of Livingston. The car struck Hartmann knocking him from his bicycle. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Deputy Terry Valka with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Officers Scott Paske and Kevin Ward with the Livingston Police Department. Hartmann was loaded onto an ambulance and transported to Livingston Memorial Hospital with injuries to the head. Hartmann's injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening. According to Officer Paske, based on the statements from multiple witnesses, Hartmann is at fault in the accident.

Hartmann was struck by this Oldsmobile Ciera driven by Kathy Jo Cooley of Livingston.
Detlev Hartmann was transported to Livingston Memorial Hospital with head injuries.
Officer Scott Paske with Livingston Police Department is the investigating officer.
