20 year old Ashley Payton Cox, of Livingston (sitting) slammed into the back of another vehicle that was stopped for a school bus.
4 Vehicle Accident, Several Hospitalized, LIVINGSTON, December 16, 2016 - At approximately 7:05 am on December 16, 2016, a white 2014 Jeep Cherokee, driven by Ashley Payton Cox, 20, of Livingston, was north-bound on US-146 near Myrow Road.  According to Cox, she had brake problems and slammed into the back of a white Chevy Silverado driven by Daniel Denham, 35, of Livingston (traffic was stopped for a school bus).  Denham's pickup was pushed into the back of a silver 2014 Toyota RAV4 driven by Sherry Louisa Nichols Simmons, 47, of Livingston.  Simmons' vehicle was pushed into the back of a tan 2006 Chevy Silverado driven by Michael Lester, of Livingston.

Cox's Jeep came to rest in the weeds to the right of the pavement.  Denham's vehicle ended up on the left side of the pavement in the grass (south-bound side).  Simmons' vehicle remained in the north-bound lane.  Lester's vehicle pulled into a drive on the right side of the pavement.

Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Deputies Jacob Hopper and Terri Mayer with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Corporal Ramey Bass with the Texas Highway Patrol.  Cox, Denham and his two passengers (2 kids),  and Simmons were transported by Ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries.  Traffic on 146 was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup.  Cox was cited for failure to control speed.  A rollback wrecker from Ken's Towing recovered Cox's vehicle and it will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston.  Denham's and Simmons' vehicles were recovered by LakeView Wrecker and will be stored in Livingston.
