Livingston Woman Dies from Injuries Sustained in Accident, SAN JACINTO COUNTY, December 7, 2011 - At approximately 1:44 pm on December 6, 2011, a 1993 Cadillac Deville driven by Mary Sack Dodd, 55, of Livingston was east-bound on FM-3278 about four miles east of Coldspring. Dodd's vehicle left the road to the right. Dodd overcorrected to the left, re-entered the pavement and slid into the oncoming west-bound lane of traffic and was slammed by a 2000 Chevy Astro van driven by Robert Eugene Babbitt of Coldspring. A host of Troopers were dispatched to the scene including Trooper Allen Stanton who is investigating the accident. Dodd was loaded onto a medical helicopter and flown to Hermann Hospital in Houston. Robert Babbitt was uninjured. Dodd passed away at Hermann Hospital approximately 4 hours later and was pronounced dead at 6:16 pm.
