18 year old Michael Anthony Wyatt, Jr., of Livingston, crashed this dirt bike in the grass off US-59 South a short distance north of the Livingston City Limits.
Rider Crashes Dirt Bike, Flown Out, LIVINGSTON, December 2, 2016 - According to witnesses, at around 2:30 pm on December 2, 2016, the rider of a dirt bike was driving at a high rate of speed in the grass of the right side of the south-bound side of US-59 a short distance north of Livingston (next to Hendrix Machinery).  The rider Michael Anthony Wyatt, Jr., 18, of Livingston, allegedly tried to jump the driveway at the entrance to Hendrix Machinery, lost control and crashed into the grass.  Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Sergeant Jason Paske and Deputy Terri Mayer with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Troopers Donny Akers and Corporal Ramey Bass with the Texas Highway Patrol.  Wyatt sustained a badly injured leg from the crash and was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital where a PHi Air Medical Helicopter landed and flew him to Conroe Regional Hospital.  Wyatt is facing a citation for operating an ATV on a roadway (the grass beside the pavement, while not a lane of traffic, is legally part of road) and could be facing further citations.  Wyatt's dirt bike was recovered by a friend.
