Car Hydroplanes, Slams Into Tree, LIVINGSTON, December 1, 2009 - Shortly after 5 pm on December 1, 2009, a green 1997 Chevy Camaro driven by Melissa Judaet, 24, of Coldspring was west-bound on FM-1988 West about 2 miles west of Thomas Supply. Judaet's vehicle left the road to the right when she lost control due to hydroplaning. Her vehicle plowed through grass and slammed into a tree, spun around and came to rest facing south. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with DPS Trooper David Flowers. Judaet was checked by EMS personnel at the scene and was shaken up, but physically okay. Traffic was not blocked during investigation and cleanup. Judaet received citations for: unsafe speed, no insurance, and no driver's license. A rollback wrecker from Ken's Towing recovered Judaet's vehicle and it will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston. Judaet was given a ride home from friends. The scene was cleared by 5:56 pm.
