Name Released of Pedestrian that was Hit by Car, LIVINGSTON, December 1, 2016 - The Livingston Police Department has released the name of the pedestrian that was fatally hit by a car on November 30, 2016.  Roy Parker, 75, of Livingston was crossing South Houston (146) and was struck by a tan 2008 Chevy Cobalt driven by Marie Rayon, 88, of Livingston.  Parker is believed to have been killed on impact.  The road was completely shut down during the investigation and cleanup.

Pedestrian Struck and Killed, LIVINGSTON, December 1, 2016 - At approximately 7:45 pm on November 30, 2016, a tan Chevy Cobalt was south-bound in the 1800 block of South Houston (next to Arena Veterinary Clinic).  The vehicle (driver's name being withheld at this time) struck a man who was allegedly walking south in the south-bound lanes of traffic.  The pedestrian (name being withheld) is believed to have been killed on impact.  The car pulled to the side of the road.  Allegience Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Sergeant Chad Ward, Officers Adam Williford and Donald Dyson with Livingston Police Department, Corporal Adam Norris with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Troopers Chris Cain, Kyle Daniel, and Zach Lenderman with the Texas Highway Patrol.  Soon Detective Marty Drake, Lieutenant Matt Parrish, and Chief Dennis Clifton with Livingston Police Department were also dispatched to the scene.  The driver of the vehicle was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  Justice of the Peace, Larry Whitworth performed an inquest at the scene.  A first-call car from Cochran Funeral Home transported the victim from the scene.  The car was recovered by a rollback wrecker from LakeView Wrecker Service and will be stored in Livingston.
