35 year old Pedro Florez, of Lufkin, was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital.
Motorcycle Crashes, Driver Hospitalized, GOODRICH, November 27, 2016 - At approximately 5:45 pm on November 27, 2016, a black Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by Pedro Florez, 35, of Lufkin was north-bound on US-59. As Florez was passing the Valero in Goodrich, a vehicle pulled out from the parking lot directly in front of him (inside lane). Florez cut left to avoid striking the vehicle, but the vehicle continued into the left lane forcing Florez to leave the pavement to the center median and crashed. Florez was ejected from his motorcycle. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Corporal Jacob Chapman and Sergeant Craig Taylor with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Trooper Kyle Daniel with the Texas Highway Patrol. Florez was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Florez was not wearing a helmet. One lane of traffic on the north-bound side of 59 was blocked during investigation and cleanup. No citations were issued. A rollback wrecker from Ken's Towing recovered Florez's motorcycle and it will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston.
