A Chevy pickup struck this culvert off FM-2457 at Blue XX West Road, causing the pickup to go airborne and roll.
Rollover Accident Takes Life of Local 16 Year Old, BLANCHARD, November 26, 2017 - At approximately 4:50 am on November 26, 2017, a red 1989 Chevy pickup driven by a local 16 year old boy (Livingston) was west-bound on FM-2457.  The pickup left the pavement to the right, struck a culvert, went airborne, landed and rolled.  The pickup came to rest upright facing east.  During the rollover, the driver was ejected and came to rest in the middle of 2457 and was deceased at the scene.  Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Scenic Loop Volunteer Fire Department, Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office, and Troopers Darwon Evans, Ashlee White, Kevin Burman and Sergeant Sam Lattner with the Texas Highway Patrol.  All traffic on 2457 was blocked during investigation and cleanup  Justice of the Peace, Sarah Arnette performed an inquest at the scene.  A first-call car from Cochran Funeral Home transported the victim from the scene.  A rollback wrecker from Ken's Towing recovered the pickup and it will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston.  This accident remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol.
