Rollover Accident Kills Livingston Man, SWARTWOUT, November 21, 2020 - At approximately 8:30 pm on November 21, 2020, a red 2004 Dodge Neon, driven by Thomas Martinez Vega, 68, of Livingston, was south-bound on FM-1988 South (Just south of the Trinity River Authority). Vega entered a curve too fast, and partially left the pavement to the right, over corrected to the left, shot across both lanes then over corrected right, left the pavement, jumped an embankment, and rolled his vehicle. Vega's vehicle came to rest upright after crashing through a barbed wire fence on the front lawn of a house located at 4587 FM-1988. Vega was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected at some point during the rollover. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Deputy Adrian Ontiveros and Trooper Ashlee White with the Texas Highway Patrol. Sadly, Vega was killed. Vega's vehicle was recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston.
