Pedestrian Struck by Car, Flown From Scene, BLANCHARD, November 17, 2022 - At approximately 6:15 am on November 17, 2022, a gray 2003 Ford Crown Victoria, driven by John Wayne Franklin, 43, of Livingston, was east-bound on FM-2457. Franklin made a left turn onto FM-3126 (by Blanchard Baptist Church) and struck a pedestrian, Bobby Donald Decker, 36, of Livingston. Decker was impacted by passenger's side of the vehicle, and his head struck the windshield. Franklin pulled into the parking lot of Blanchard Baptist and summoned help. Decker was crossing 3126 when he was struck. Franklin's view was obstructed by a pickup who was stopped at that stop sign (at 3126 and 2457). Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Scenic Loop Volunteer Fire Department, Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Trooper Johnny Wilkerson with the Texas Highway Patrol. A landing zone was set up on 2457. An Air Life medical helicopter flew Decker to Conroe Regional Hospital. All traffic on 2457 was blocked during flight operations. The car was driven from the scene. This accident remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol.
