94 year old Rocky Lynn White's 1997 Dodge pickup struck a dump truck on 190 East near Darden Road.
Pickup Strikes Dump Truck, 2 Hospitalized, SODA, November 17, 2016 - Shortly after 12 noon on November 17, 2016, a green 1997 Dodge 1500 pickup, driven by Rocky Lynn White, 64, of Livingston, was west-bound on US-190 East near Darden Road. White's pickup struck the back of a dump truck (being used for road construction). The dump truck, driven by Jacoby Kian Holyfield, 25, of Marshall, was east-bound on 190 and turned left to cross the west-bound lane to the area of construction, but failed to yield to White. White's pickup struck the back tires of the dump truck. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Troopers Darwon Evans and Donny Akers with the Texas Highway Patrol. White and his passenger were transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Holyfield was physically okay. Traffic on 190 was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup. Holyfield was cited for failure to yield right-of-way at a left turn. A rollback wrecker from Ken's Towing recovered White's pickup and it will be stored at Pollock's Body Shop in Livingston.
White's passenger appeared to be in severe pain and laying on the pavement by the pickup.
Both White and his passenger were transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital.
