Vehicle Turns Over, Burns, Driver Rescued from Flames, GOODRICH, January 15, 2024 - At approximately 8:35 am on January 15, 2024, a 2004 Chevy Tahoe, driven by Robert Lockhart, 39, of Livingston was south-bound on US-59 South, just north of the north end of Loop 393 when his vehicle  left the pavement to the right, continued down the embankment into the wood line, turned over and ignited.  Lockhart was entrapped as the vehicle was starting to burn.  Fortunately, about five men passing by saw what happened, pulled over, jumped out and was able to rescue Lockhart before EMS personnel showed up.  Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office, and Trooper Johnny Wilkerson with the Texas Highway Patrol.  Lockhart was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  Traffic was not blocked during investigation and cleanup.  Lockhart's vehicle was recovered by Kwik Tow out of Livingston.
