Distracted Driver Rear Ends Pickup, LIVINGSTON, November 15, 2015 - At approximately 11:50 am on November 15, 2015, a white 2005 Ford F-350, driven by Thelma Simons, 63, of Splendora, was north-bound on South Houston (146).  Simons was waiting to make a left turn onto Garner Street when she was slammed from behind by a white 2006 Ford Taurus driven by Rachel Butler, 23, of Houston.  Butler was north-bound behind Simons and was apparently distracted and didn't notice the pickup in front of her.  Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Officers Kevin Ward, Scott Paske, and Sergeant Ronnie Bogany with the Livingston Police Department.  Butler is reportedly pregnant.  She was treated by EMS personnel at the scene and then released.  Simons' passenger was transported to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.  Butler was cited for failure to control speed.  A rollback wrecker from Ken's Towing recovered Butler's vehicle and it will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston.  Simons' vehicle was driven from the scene.
