2 Car Accident Near State Park, SWARTWOUT, November 12, 2024 - At approximately 7:35 am on November 12, 2024, the driver of a black 2016 Ford EcoSport was north-bound on FM-3126 when the driver of a white 2000 Ford Expedition pulled out of an RV park. The driver of the Ford Expedition failed to yield to the Ford EcoSport and their front ends collided. The impact sent the EcoSport off the pavement to the left and to the woodline, while the Expedition came to rest on the pavement. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with a deputy from the Polk County Sheriff's Office, and Troopers Sean Barnes and Simon Mijares with the Texas Highway Patrol. Both drivers (both female) were shaken up but no serious injuries. Dan's Towing and Recovery and Smith Towing were summoned to recover the vehicles. The driver of the Expedition is likely facing a citation for failing to yield.
