Harold Fields' 2012 Ford Fusion sits in the median between the north and south bound lanes of US-59 in Goodrich.
Major Accident at Loop 393, GOODRICH, November 11, 2012 - At approximately 7 pm on November 11, 2012, a black 2012 Ford F-150 driven by Freddie Wright, 70, of Woodville, was east-bound on Loop 393 in Goodrich. Wright came to a stop sign at US-59 and Loop 393. Wright attempted to cross over the south-bound lanes of traffic to the north-bound lanes but failed to yield to an oncoming gray 2012 Ford Fusion driven by Harold Fields, 30, of Nacogdoches. Fields swerved to avoid Wright's truck as the side of his car struck the front fender of the pickup. The collision sent Fields' car into the median while Wright stopped his truck in the crossover between both sides of 59. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Trooper Kevin Burman with the Texas Highway Patrol. Harold Fields and his 25 year old passenger (girl friend) were both treated by EMS Personnel and transported to Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Wright was physically okay. According to Trooper Burman, Wright was cited for failure to yield right-of-way from a stop sign. Harld Fields' vehicle was recovered by a rollback wrecker from Harwood Brothers Wrecker Service and will be stored at 101 Harwood Drive in Livingston. Freddie Wright's truck wasn't drivable because the front bumper was pushed into the driver's side tire. Big Jim Harwood used his wrecker to alleviate the problem with some assistance from Trooper Burman. They pulled the bumper out and got Wright back on the road.
