John Gronewald's Cadillac Devill crashed through a wooden fence and into a storage shed.
Driver Crashes Through Fence and Into Storage Building, ESCAPEES RV CLUB, November 6, 2012 - Shortly before 7 am on November 6, 2012 a silver Cadillac Deville driven by John Franklin Gronewald, 62, of Escapees, was west-bound on Providence Road when he reportedly had a seizure. Gronewald's vehicle left the road to the right, crashed through a fence, and slammed into a storage building in the RV Park (just missing a large propane tank). Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department Heavy Rescue Unit, Deputies Rey Davalos and Terry Valka, and Trooper Donny Akers with the Texas Highway Patrol. Emergency personnel removed Gronewald from his vehicle and transported him to Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. A rollback wrecker from Ken's Towing recovered Gronewald's vehicle and it will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston. The scene was cleared in about an hour.
Gronewald's vehicle narrowly missed a large propane tank.
Trooper Donny Akers is the investigating officer.
Gronewald reportedly had a seizure while he was driving on Providence Road.
Fortunately Gronewald's dog "Shasta", who was in the car, escaped injury.
A 2x4 board was lodged into the radiator.
