When our cameras arrived the vehicle had been turned upright by a wrecker.
Driver, Allegedly Intoxicated, Rolls Vehicle and Flees, CORRIGAN, November 6, 2011 - At approximately 4:20 pm on November 6, 2011, a white Ford Explorer allegedly driven by Carlton Church, 39, of Zavala, was west-bound on Stryker Road near Corrigan when he rolled his vehicle. Church's vehicle came to rest upside down in the west-bound lane of Stryker road. According to witnesses, he crawled out of the wreckage and spoke briefly to them and then fled the scene. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Officers from Corrigan Police Department, Game Wardens David Johnson and Brandon Mosley, Sergeant Rob Thomas with the Sheriff's Office and DPS Troopers David Flowers and Kevin Burman. According to witnesses, Church got out of his vehicle and spoke briefly and fled into some nearby woods. The witnesses stated that Church was bleeding from his head and smelled of alcohol. Indeed, beer was spilled all over the scene, and cans of beer were strewn about. An immediate search of the area began and at time of press, Carlton Church has not yet been located. A rollback wrecker from Clifton Chevrolet recovered Church's vehicle and it will be stored in Corrigan. The scene was by 5:30 pm.
39 year old Carlton Lynn Church of Zavala was allegedly intoxicated when he rolled his Ford Explorer and then fled the scene.
Trooper David Flowers with the Texas Higway Patrol is the investigating Officer.
Cold cans of beer were gathered from the wreckage and put back in their cooler.
Carlton Church's vehicle was recovered by Clifton Chevrolet.
