Trooper Chris Cain investigates an accident on FM-2665.
Utility Truck Broadsides Pickup, 1 Hospitalized, GOODRICH, November 2, 2016 - A silver 2008 Toyota Tacoma driven by Peggy Luebe Williams, 57, of Goodrich, was east-bound on FM-2665. Williams apparently entered a curve too fast and lost control of her vehicle on the slick recently rained on pavement. Her vehicle slid into the oncoming west-bound lane and was broadsided on the rear half of her truck by a utility truck driven by Bradley Wayne Leverett, 37, of Diboll. The impact caused both vehicles to leave the road. Leverett's utility truck turned over on its passenger's side. Williams' vehicle slid into the grass. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Holiday Lake Estates Volunteer Fire Department and Trooper Chris Cain with the Texas Highway Patrol. Amazingly, only one person sustained minor injuries from the accident (a passenger in Leverett's vehicle was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital). All traffic on 2665 was blocked during investigation and cleanup. A rollback wrecker from Fawbush Wrecker Service recovered Williams' vehicle. A heavy-duty wrecker from East Tex Towing recovered the utility truck. Williams was cited for failure to control speed.
