Local Youth Hospitalized in Motorcycle Accident, LIVINGSTON, October 28, 2017 - At approximately 11 am on October 28, 2017, a 15 year old male youth, from Livingston was south-bound on US-146 on a Suzuki motorcycle with another 15 year old Livingston youth (male on a dirt bike that's not street legal).  The driver of the Suzuki motorcycle was apparently distracted and slammed into the back of a white van that was legally parked on the south-bound shoulder of 146 about seven miles south of the Livingston City Limits (fortunately, he was wearing a helmet).  The youngster was ejected and sustained serious leg injuries.  Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Troopers Ashlee White, Donny Akers, Kevin Burman and John Allen (all with the Texas Highway Patrol).  The youth was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital.  He was cited for no driver's license and driving on the shoulder.  The other youth on the dirt bike was cited for no driver's license and for driving an non-street-legal motorcycle on a state road.  Both motorcycles were recovered by family and taken home.  See pictures below.
