Major Accident in Moscow, Alcohol Suspected, MOSCOW, October 25, 2015 - At approximately 3 am on October 25, 2015, a white Chevy pickup driven by Cody Darnell Davis, 33, of Moscow, was east-bound on Hall and Mack Road. Davis came to US-59 and attempted to cross over the south-bound lanes but failed to yield to a white south-bound Ford F-250. The two vehicles collided. Davis was ejected during the collision and came to rest in the middle of 59. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Corrigan Volunteer Fire Department, Officers Eric Bolton and Ethan Straley Corrigan Police Department, Corporal Javier Segura and Deputies Billy Duke and Teddy "Precious" Sims with the Polk County Sheriff's Office, and Troopers Zach Lenderman and Kevin Burman with the Texas Highway Patrol. Davis was loaded into an ambulance and transported to Livingston Airport where a medical helicopter landed and transported him to Houston. The driver of the other vehicle was physically okay, however, a passenger was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Traffic on the south-bound side of 59 was blocked during investigation and cleanup. According to Trooper Lenderman, Davis had a strong smell of alcohol and alcohol is suspected. Davis is possibly facing the charge of intoxication assault. A rollback wrecker from Riley Wrecker Service out of Corrigan recovered Davis' vehicle and it will be stored in Corrigan. The other pickup was recovered by Clifton Chevrolet and will also be stored in Corrigan.
The collision caused Davis' truck to catch fire. The fire was put out by Corrigan VFD.
Davis wqs ejected from his vehicle and came to rest in the middle of 59.
Davis was transported to Livingston Airport and flown by helicopter to Houston.
The Ford pickup sustained heavy damage and had to be towed.
