Motorcycle Accident, Driver Flown Out, CAMP RUBY, October 25, 2014 - At approximately 1:40 pm on October 25, 2014, a motorcycle accident occurred when a brand new Harley Davidson Motorcycle driven by Kerri Shotwell, 53, of Camp Ruby was east-bound on Wilson Lake Estates Road.  Shotwell lost control of her bike.  The bike turned over ejecting Shotwell in the process.  The bike slid into the intersection of Camp Ruby Road and Wilson Lake Estates Road.  Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Segno Volunteer Fire Department, Sergeant Lee Rogers and Deputy Janie Cain (both with the Polk County Sheriff's Office) and Trooper Barett Duren with the Texas Highway Patrol.  Shotwell was wearing a helmet  but still sustained head injuries.  She was transported by ambulance to Segno where a PHi Air Medical helicopter landed and transported her to St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Beaumont.  At time of press (5:20 pm), Shotwell's condition is not known to PolkCountyToday.com.  Her motorcycle was recovered by a family member.
