Man Passes Away From 4 Wheeler Accident, LIVINGSTON, October 28, 2014 - A Livingston man has lost his life from a 4 wheeler accident that occurred on Friday night (10/24/14). At approimately 7:20 pm on October 24, 2014, a red Suzuki Quad Runner Eiger 400 driven by James Reginald Hopson, 33, of Livingston, was south-bound on Tempe Timber Road when his 4 wheeler veered off the road to the left and struck a pine tree. Hopson was ejected from the all terrain vehicle and suffered head injuries. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Troopers Zach Lenderman and Darwon Evans. Medical personnel began applying CPR. Hopson was flown by helicopter to Hermann Hospital in Houston in extremely critical condition. At 4:18 pm on October 28, 2014, Hopson passed away at Hermann Hospital. Hopson's passing is the third 4 wheeler fatality that has occurred in Polk County since September 13 (about a month and a half).
