Vehicle Slams 18 Wheeler, 1 Hospitalized, LIVINGSTON, October 19, 2017 - At approximately 8:30 am on October 19, 2017, an 18 wheeler (tanker) driven by Logan Joshua Carson, 25, of Bloomington, was north-bound on the US-59 bypass in Livingston (by Catfish King). Carson was having engine problems and was driving under the speed limit and looking for a safe place to pull over when he was suddenly slammed from behind by a white 2007 Dodge Durango, driven by Juan Uriel Lopez, 31, of Corrigan. Both vehicles came to rest on the right shoulder. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Officers Brandon Brewer, Jason Thomas and Sergeant Darrell Newman with Livingston Police Department. Lopez was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Carson was physically okay. Traffic on 59 was not blocked during investigation and cleanup. Lopez was cited for failure to control speed. A rollback wrecker from Fawbush Wrecker Service recovered Lopez's vehicle and it will be stored in Goodrich. Carson's 18 wheeler will be towed by a heavy duty wrecker.
