Onalaska Woman Perishes in Accident, MOSCOW, October 11, 2014 - Shortly before 9 am on October 11, 2014, a white 2009 Chevy Cobalt driven by Debra Powell Dewberry, 63, of Onalaska, was east-bound on FM-350 and attempted to pull off of 350 over the south-bound lanes of US-59 to the north-bound lanes. Dewberry failed to yield to an oncoming south-bound white 2014 Jeep Wrangler driven by Jodie Lynn Groves, 37, of Livingston. Groves' vehicle slammed into Dewberry's driver side door. The impact knocked Dewberry's vehicle into the parking lot of Hobby Park. Sadly, Dewberry was killed on impact. Trooper Darwon Evans with the Texas Highway Patrol was dispatched to investigate. Additionally, Corrigan Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to help remove Dewberry from her vehicle. Justice of the Peace, Stephen McEntyre performed an inquest at the scene. Dewberry was loaded into a first call van from Pace Funeral Home. Groves' vehicle was recovered by a rollback wrecker from Fawbush Body Shop and will be stored in Goodrich. Dewberry's vehicle was recovered by a rollback wrecker from Clifton Chevrolet out of Corrigan. The accident remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol.

Dewberry's vehicle was slammed by this 2014 Jeep Wrangler driven by Jodie Groves of Livingston.
Trooper Darwon Evans is the accident investigator.
Volunteers with Corrigan VFD helped remove Dewberry from her vehicle.
A first call van from Pace Funeral Home transported Dewberry from the scene.
