Pickup vs Toyota, 1 Person Flown, LIVINGSTON, October 9, 2024 - Shortly after 8 pm on October 9, 2024, a red 2008 Dodge 2500 pickup, driven by Ryan Snook, 17, of Livingston, was south-bound on Washington Street. As Snook was passing through the intersection of Washington and Church Streets (by the court house), the driver of a gray 2017 Toyota Corolla (north-bound side) attempted a left turn onto Church Street in front of Snook. The vehicles collided and came to rest on the pavement. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department, and Officers Montana Tenney and Sean Wood with the Livingston Police Department. The driver of the Toyota, Jama Alvarez, 41, of Houston, was transported by ambulance to a landing zone and flown out. Alavarez's wife was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Snook was physically okay. Traffic at the intersection was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup. Officer Tenney is investigating the accident. Alvarez is facing a citation for failure to yield to Snook. Alvarez's vehicle was recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored in Livingston. Snook's vehicle was recovered by Pop's Towing and will be stored in Livingston.

The car was driven by 41 year old Jama Alvarez, of Houston. Alvarez attempted a left turn from Washington onto Church and failed to yield to the oncoming Dodge pickup driven by 17 year old Ryan Snook, of Livingston.
The pedestrian light pole for crossing was knocked over when it was struck by Alvarez's vehicle.
