Ambulance Collides with SUV, 2 Hospitalized, LIVINGSTON, October 7, 2013 - Shortly before 10 am on October 7, 2013, a tan Chevy Trailblazer driven by Carol Fisher, 21, of Livingston, was south-bound on South Washington (Business 59) in Livingston. Fisher was in the right lane. A short distance behind fisher was an ambulance with Americare Ambulance Service (also south-bound) driven by Joshua Ennis, 23, of Lufkin. The ambulance was traveling in the left lane. Fisher suddenly decided to make a left turn onto Calhoun and cut directly in front of the Americare Ambulance. Ennis cut his wheels left in an effort to avoid striking Fisher, but the collision was unavoidable and the ambulance broadsided the car. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Officer Kevin Ward and Sergeant Ronnie Bogany (both with Livingston Police Department). Carol Fisher and one of her passengers were transported by ambulance to Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Traffic on the south-bound side of South Washington was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup. Fisher is facing a citation for unsafe lane change. Fisher's vehicle was driven from the scene by a friend while the Ambulance was recovered by LakeView Towing and will be stored in Livingston.
Carol Fisher's Chevy Blazer was broadsided at S. Wahsington and Calhoun (she attempted a left turn directly in front of a south-bound ambulance).
Joshua Ennis was driving the ambulance. He was physically okay.
