Sleepy Driver Causes Late Night Accident, 2 Hospitalized, LIVINGSTON, October 6, 2010 - Just minutes before midnight on October 5, 2010, a silver 2007 GMC Sierra driven by Curtis Ryan Hall, 26, of Livingston, was north-bound on US-146 South near Old Providence road when he allegedly fell asleep at the wheel and veered into the south-bound lane colliding with a gray 2003 Ford Explorer pulling a trailer and being driven by Arvizu M. Aguillar, 24, of Venton Louisiana. Both vehicles collided at their front right fenders grazing each other. Hall's vehicle rolled one time and came to rest upright on the north-bound shoulder facing north while Aguillar's vehicle came to rest on the south-bound shoulder facing south. The impact left debris all over the road. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with volunteer firemen from Livingston, Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office and DPS Trooper Darwon Evans with the Texas Highway Patrol. Aguillar's passenger, David Gonzalez was transported to Livingston Memorial Hospital with arm injuries, and Hall was transported to Livingston Memorial with head and other injuries. Traffic was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup. Both parties had insurance. Hall was cited for failure to maintain a single lane and could be facing other citations. A rollback wrecker from Ken's Towing recovered both vehicles. Hall's vehicle will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston and Aguillar's vehicle will be stored at Pollock's Body Shop in Livingston. The scene was cleared by 1:20 am.
