Steve Frank Coronado of Houston is loaded into an ambulance to be taken to Livingston Memorial Hospital.
18 Wheeler Turns Over on 190 East, INDIAN SPRINGS, October 5, 2011 - Shortly before 9 pm on September 4, 2011, a red Freightliner 18 Wheeler driven by Steve Frank Coronado, 54, of Houston, was west-bound on US-190 East when he apparently went into diabetic shock and left the road to the right. Coronado's rig turned over as it rolled down an embankment spilling its load of 4x8 half inch wafer board. Wafer board was strewn all over the side of the embankment all the way down to the woodline. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Indian Springs Volunteer Fire Department and Troopers Joe Cole and Ramey Bass. Coronado was treated at the scene and transported to Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Traffic was not blocked during investigation (but partially blocked during cleanup). According to Trooper Cole, Coronado did in fact go into diabetic shock and no citations will be issued. A crew from Riley Wrecker Service out of Corrigan arrived to deal with the mess. At time of press (11:38 pm on October 4) the mess is still being cleaned up.
Trooper Ramey Bass with the Texas Highway Patrol investigates.
The rear end of the Coronado's rig lays upside down on the should of 190 East. The rest of the rig extended down to the woodline.
4 ft. by 8ft. sheets of half inch wafer board was scattered from the shoulder all the way down to the woods.
