Accident on 190 Hospitalizes 1, SPRING CREEK, October 3, 2012 - At approximately 3 pm on October 3, 2012, a blue 2007 Chevy Tahoe driven by Christy Smelley, 37, of Livingston was west-bound on US-190 West. Smelley's vehicle was suddenly struck in the driver's side door by a white 1994 Chevy Z28 Camaro driven by Catherine Mae Lozano, 58, of Livingston. Lozano was east-bound and attempted a left turn onto Walding Road but failed to yield to Smelley. The impact sent Smelley's vehicle off the pavement to the right and into the grass. Lozano's vehicle came to rest facing west on the west-bound shoulder. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department and Trooper Allen Stanton with the Texas Highway Patrol. Christy Smelley was treated at the scene by EMS personnel and transported to Livingston Memorial Hospitalwith undisclosed injuries. Traffic was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup. According to Trooper Stanton, Catherine Lozano was cited for failure to yield right-of-way from a left turn. A rollback wrecker from Ken's Towing recovered Smelley's vehicle and it will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston while Lozano's vehicle was recovered by Harwood Wrecker Service and will be stored at 101 Harwood Drive in Livingston.
