Rollover Accident by Wal-Mart, LIVINGSTON, October 1, 2009 - At approximately 5:50 pm on October 1, 2009, a gray Dodge Caravan attempted a left turn into the Wal-Mart parking lot from US-190 West from the east-bound lanes of traffic. The driver failed to yield right-of-way to a black Ford Ranger that was west-bound. The Ford Ranger broad sided the Caravan. The impact of the collision pushed the van over on its side and it rolled over completely coming to rest upside down in the west-bound lanes of 190. Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department Heavy Rescue Unit and Livingston Police Officer Ashley Brame. The driver of the mini-van managed to crawl out from the wreckage and was physically okay. The driver of the Ford Ranger was also physically okay. Both west-bound lanes of traffic had to be routed around the accident as traffic came to a crawl from the blockage of the roadway. A rollback wrecker from Fawbush Wrecker Service recovered the mini-van and it will be stored at Fawbush in Livingston. According to the Livingston Police Department, the names of the drivers of both vehicles are not allowed to be given out citing state law. Until this revelation, the names of the people and anything that goes onto a crash report has always been public information. The scene was cleared by 6:30 pm.
