Construction Worker Struck by Car, GOODRICH, September 26, 2017 - At approximately 10:35 am on September 26, 2017, a blue 1996 Chevy S-10, driven by Linda Martin Blackstock, 69, of Livingston, was south-bound on US-59. According to Blackstock, a truck in front of her who didn't have brake lights stopped. Blackstock slammed on her brakes and slid right. Blackstock's vehicle struck a construction worker, 38 year old Terry Wayne Turley, of Diboll. Blackstock pulled to the shoulder and stopped (the truck in front of her kept going). Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Deputy Josh Sanders with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Troopers Chris Cain and Corporal Ramey Bass with the Texas Highway Patrol. Turley was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Blackstock was physically okay and her vehicle was driven from the scene. This accident remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol.
